Go into Internet Explorer
Click on Tools in the menu
Select Internet Options
Click on the Contents tab
Click on Enable
Under the Ratings tab you can slide the bar to block sites based on content (nudity, language, etc)
Then go under the General tab and set a supervisor password (otherwise he can just slide the bars back up)

Note: This is ONLY work with sites that comply with the voluntary rating systems. As many sites do not, those sites will still be accessible. It may also block some sites that are not bad because the happen to contain a word or words on that are on the "banned" list.

For more complete protection, purchase a program such as CyberNanny or subscript to a filtering service.

The answer for many who are in the 'know', and set up networks for churches, schools, are all FREE!

We take an older computer of 450 Mhz to 1 Ghz, with 64Mb of RAM,
a single small hard drive of 1 Gb to whatever... install two network cards, and hook up a keyboard, mouse, CDrom, and monitor for only the thirty minutes it takes to 'build' the system...

This system is a true Firewall, that stops all the "bad stuff" coming in, or, going out! It can do content filtering, of all webpages, block all spam, gather everyone's mail from the servers, and, it is all FREE!

We download IPCOP, burn the iso to a CDrom. Power up the PC with the LiveCDrom of IPCOP in the cdrom drive. It will boot the system, if you have setup the CMOS SETUP to boot first from the CD.

Identify one NIC as the RED input card, from the internet.
Identify the other as the GREEN card to your network.
If more than one computer in your home, hook a router to the GREEN NIC.

IF you have wifi, hook it to a card that you identify as a BLUE card!
The sequence of install steps are simple, and easy.

Then you'll invoke Dan's Guardian, Spam Assassin, and/or the other features included in the IPCOP lists. Most update daily from the main webserver repositories, also FREE!

It is all another feature of the 800 different versions and distros of GNU/Linux, and BSD (yes, MAC OS X is DarwinBSD!)!

Linux is good enough to run Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com and MSN.com on 30,000+ Linux servers for the past year!

And, the best OS right now that runs in LiveCDrom, but, you install if you like as a dual boot or main OS, containing 5,000 FREE games, programs, etc. is http://pclinuxos.com

Both sites have huge user forums for instant help!
