They're waiting for reinforcements from the U.S. in soldiers, money, etc., assuming that Bush will wake up on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!!! Bombs away?!

You must remember most of the citizens of cuba have only known a world with Castro. The ones who were there when he took over are either dead or as old as he and not able to fight him..I am sure he has loyal followers just as Sadam had.The youth have been brainwashed in the schools from a very young age. They don't know how the world really is since Castro limits any news media and serves out lots of propaganda.I hope the old goat dies quickly and a democracy can form there, there is a place in hell waiting for the monster

james purves, my dear fellow, communism was never about sharing, as is to-day and the days of stalin, khruschev and the rest, there is a very rich class in then ussr now russia and its always been that way do you think there could have been any sharing taking place,, thats why so many now see the way clear to get their mass fortunes out of russia, like buying any football club and the city s/m the russians enjoyed communism as do the cubans so neither would want to disrupt that, and from all accounts castro has done a fair job say the cubans perhaps we dont go along with that, but then we have a different style

Castro has been one of the worlds most successful leaders. With one of the best Health Care systems in the world and not being exposed to the type of food that makes the average American such a fat ars* they have a greater life expectancy than the average American and a greater child survival rate. The American attitude towards Cuba has been an outrage and a disgrace, but, given their ignorance and bigotry, who can be surprised?

Cuba is the best country i have ever visited, i met loads of locals and they are proud of their independence and government. They are happy and i was really impressed. America just wants to take over because of the oil - they are already taking the oil by indirect drilling under the sea - the cheek of it! America are still at Guantanimo Bay even though their 100 years "military base" land loan is up!! The children there want peace between USA and Cuba but the adults know the history and they wont forget that easy.

Yeah, I think that they are happier - more equaltiy than there was ever going to be under the rule of American crime families. Tough to stay in power for 50 years, 90 miles from America, if the people are unhappy.

Part of JFK's legacy, along with the building of the Berlin Wall and the Viet Nam War, is that he let personal affronts dictate American policy toward Cuba, and we have suffered the bad results of that for 45 years.

Maybe the Cubans are happy with the way things are.

Just because you live in a country run in a different manner it doesn't mean it;s the best way to do so.

their current life style is just too comfortable! they b--ch and complain but (i think) they are the only nation in history who has complained for years and never done anything. just for a few people who have expressed themselves against the government, risked everything and ended up in jail.
I've also heard that many are scared of the expats in Miami. they're afraid that if the expats return take back everything they left behind from those who stayed behind. don't forget that the rich ran away and the large majority, the poor, stayed behind.
and, if you believe they are ignorant, i have news for you, there is no illiteracy in Cuba and even with their limited resources they are better informed than you and me who have access to the internet at home.

They are brainwashed. After living for 50 years or your whole life under that type of rule, you do not know any better and you think you are already pimpin'. We need to take over Cuba and utulize their oil fields off their coast.

cuz they'll get killed for tryin???
i dont know if they like it. in cuba, if u go to the hospital, u need to bring ur own lightbulb cuz lightbulbs r expensive there. if u gotta car ur considered wealthy. milk's short so the people dont get enough calcium. i heard that the government encourages child prostitution.....it doesnt sound like a nice country to me, like other people r saying. sure its beautiful, but definitely a place i wouldnt wanna live in.
