If an employee's statutory sick pay is increased to the level of their salary, will the company still be able to reclaim the statutory sick pay or is it like other benefits in that the more you earn the less you get in benefits?

The employer is allowed to pay more than the SSP minimum, and can still reclaim the SSP.

the company tops up the ssp if they pay you a higher amount. they can only claim back the standard ssp amount.
