Because they do have the right to kiss and hold hands in public. They shouldn't have to hide their love for eachother just because you think its gross. Cause guess what some gays think that heterosexual kissing is gross. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to do it. Grow a brain.

Why do some straight people feel like they have a right to kiss and hold hands in public?

Hi Aaron,
There is nothing wrong with you. Nothing at all. I know alot of people here don't understand teens and they are abusing you for asking something that is hurting you inside. There is NOTHING wrong with you.
*hug*
It's ok that you like guys. It's ok that you aren't attracted to girls. I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm saying this because its true.
You are perfect just as you are. Don't hate yourself, don't be down on yourself, don't think there is something wrong with you.
You are perfect, and you are not alone. You never have to be alone. Let go of the anger and the self-hatred. Stop lying awake and stop praying for god to change or kill you, which I suspect you are now. God doesn't care that you are gay, you were made the way you are and you can't be anything else.
Peace.
My partner and I have been together almost 15 years, we love each other very much, our many straight friends will happily tell you that we are the most successful couple that they've ever seen, of any preference. We care, genuinely and for real. I've attached my email address below in my signature block. Write me if you need or want to talk, or if you just need to scream and curse. It's all alright. I will help, and we will help, any way we can. I've also put some links into the source area that may help.
You are perfect as you are.
Kind thoughts and gentle love,
Reynolds (and Jonathan)

PS The rest of you lay off him. He's gay and he hates himself -- he even says it is his 360 profile -- in case he erases it, I've reproduced what he says following. Poor little one. He needed love and support -- not attack. We should always care for one another, be present for one another, uplift one another -- to debate and discuss yes, but return love, even for hate. It is how we can heal the world.
This is what he says about himself:
Profile Information
About Me:
My name is Aaron, I am 17. My two biggest fears and secrets is that someone will find out I actually like guys instead of girls... and I hate myself severely.
So, what do you think he needed? People to yell at him, or people to really care about him? We are gay, we are better than that. Let's at least try to love.

You just answered your own question. We have the right to kiss and hold hands like heterosexuals do.

It isn't the orientation which matters - its the act itself which determines whether its appropriate in a public place.
Holding hands in public, whether homosexual or heterosexual should be okay.
When you're waiting for a train (or somewhere where there is a lot of people), and there is a couple who are all over each other deep kissing etc, then its highly inappropriate - irrespective of whether its a heterosexual or homosexual couple. Please, go somewhere private - or somewhere where you are less likely to find other people.

Oh love, I don't worry about what others think, I get on with life. I very often go to Glasgow at the weekend and when I meet friends, I always kiss and hug them, without as much as a second glance from anyone. In my experience of life in the 21Century people are too wrapped up in themselves to be worried about others. And what was this terrible outrage again, oh yes, people shamefully showing affection for other humans!
Well whatever next!!

Because, like heterosexuals, they have feelings and emotions, and pay their taxes and have jobs and put their pants on one leg at a time.
Why do some heterosexuals feel that they have a right to even ask such a silly question?

because the "right" to do this is not restricted. Until the law says you cannot do something, you can do it. If I think of some bizarre behavior no one else ever came up with before, and it offends the general public, then the law restricting this must be passed before I can be charged with violating it, don't you think??
kind of like when cars were first invented, did we have speed limits?

It just feels so good to find the right person to kiss and hold hands with. You tend to forget all men are created equal.
