Teaching is fantastic career that I absolutely love. However,it's not for everyone so I would strongly suggest you go and volunteer in a public school classroom and get some real, hands-on experience. Talk to the teachers, students and administrators about the job. There's a lot more to teaching than just being in the classroom with kids. In fact, I'd say the job entails only about 50% teaching and 50% paperwork, meetings, adjunct duties, union issues, etc. It's a dedication you must be sure you want to make before you spend the next few years in grad school earning a credential. I've known friends that have shown a desire to be a teacher but after seeing what the job requires, they've reconsidered.

If it's what you want to do, then you should look into it. If money isn't an issue, (teachers are significantly underpaid in the public school system) then there won't be any problem with teaching. If you look into private schools though, they make more money. Plus, if the job isn't popular, that means there's more opportunity to land it yourself. Best of luck in whatever you choose!

If you have a passion for History, and you think you would like to be an good influence on children, then I say go for it.
You will be elated at some of the children that you really make a difference for. And you will be disappointed at the ones that don't care for one word you have to say. But your focus should be on the Passion of what you want to teach, and those that allow you to reach them.
And, even though the teachers don't make what they should, once you are there for a while, you really get good benefits, retirement, etc.
Go For It.

By all means, teach!! If you're heart so desires, go! Definitely teaching seldom gives financial satisfaction, but the rewards it give lies on the fulfillment that you've made a difference into a child's life by imparting to him what you know and seeing that it brings change in him. Monetary reward lasts for a limited time but the reward of imparting knowledge to the future lasts for a lifetime.

Do what you want regardless of other peoples' opinion, I wanted to be a teacher a while ago too, and i probably still would open my own child care, (for my love of guiding and children) but I ended up getting a Gov't job that pays awesome, so i let my dreams go to fill my bank account. The decision is all yours.

Follow your heart ! If you have a job that you are really not into...you'll hate going to work each day.
You may make a difference in someones life and if you reach even just one person and that helps turn a life around you have been blessed and have blessed in return.
Best wishes to you in your career

Yes ! It is a good idea. If you like that profession and have the required qualification then go for it. That will give you more satisfaction and peace of mind than money.
Best luck!

Being school teacher is a very good idea.In the private sector or government side both are appreciated from the students and the surroundings.Sometimes in the private sector, you earn more salary than government side but in the government, when you are aging, you have retirement fees and so on.In private sector, unless there is the big institution to support you until your death.

Man, I respect that. My homeboy is doing the same thing but it will take you a master's degree to teach at a school for children. But I hope you go for it and wish you the best.
