Look at your local council website and see if they have any activities or initiatives you could get involved in.

Contact local charities to see if there's anything you can volunteer to do.

Wash your neighbours cars (that'll earn you some cash too!)

Ask around if there are any older neighbours that might need a few job/errands doing or just someone to chat to - adopt a granny!

Get a few friends (trusted) friends together and organise activities for any young children/brothers & sisters in your neighbourhood - you could charge parents a nominal fee while they go shopping or something for an hour.

These may not sound as thrilling as rock-climbing etc but are all free or cost very little and the skills you learn (and the fact you have the initiative to do it in the first place) will look good on CVs etc in a couple of years time. And you never know - you might actually get something out of it!

Go and visit the local library, they always have notices up advertising activities teenagers can get involved, internet access, borrow books, CDs, videos, DVDs.

I know it sounds boring but you'll be surprised what they have to offer, it's a good meeting place for your friends as well.

Go for a bike ride somewhere different every day. If it's raining watch Quincy.

find a climbing wall and join one of their clubs. rock-climbing is awesome and you'll meet nice people.
