I'm not referring to actual bisexual people here... but it seems like these days, more women than not identify as bisexual. As a heterosexual man I'm not complaining about that, but I wonder how genuine this is. Can sexuality be trendy? Are women actually more inherently bisexual than men, as I once thought?
I dunno, I'm so bored of seemingly every other woman you meet claiming to be into other women... just for status or acceptibility in today's culture, or whatever it is. Are they doing it just to satisfy their man's fantasies? Most of us do find it a turn on, yes, but only if it's genuine.
These women probably piss off actual bi and lesbian women too!

Those that call themselves Bi (for the titillation of their male admirers) do seem to be doing it because it is deemed fashionable.
It pisses me off as a bi-male. I should imagine it REALLY pisses off lesbians and bisexual women.
EDIT: Having said that, there has also been an increase in the number of people who genuinely self identify as Bisexual and increasingly men are publicly doing so, too. I do think that, historically, more women than men were comfortable in doing so - simply because there are less taboos (in the Het world) around lesbian relationships.

I think there are just as many men as women who are bisexual but men are more afraid of the gay stigma and therefore they wont accept the label bisexual. According to Kinsey 62% of the population is bisexual only 29% are 100 % straight and 9% are 100 % homosexual. This means that there are more of us than either of the other 2 groups. Unfortunately the gay community is so stigmatized that men are reviled by the thought of accepting the gay label. That is one of the reasons that men have been joining the g0y movement in droves. There are close to 40,000 of us world wide and our numbers are growing every day.

The fake people that say they are bisexuals do piss off the real ones because then they feed into the myths that we can choose or that we switch sides, but if they just say they are curious then that's fine. To kiss other girls just to be trendy or turn on guys is insulting to women everywhere. I can get having fun, but be true to your feelings and think about what you are doing first and why.

Bi-sexuality has became trendy, because people want the freedom to see who they want, yet they want to be part of the "normal" society. They believe that if they are bi-sexual, then they can fit in with the normal crowd when need be, but do what they actually like behind closed doors.
This is not to say that bi-sexuals are lying to themselves, thats not what im saying...I am just stating that i think its become trendy for that reason. If you truly are attracted to both sexes, then that is wonderful that you accept and acknowledge that openly.

It is simply just another way some are attempting to identify themselves with the "counterculture" of society. Others do things like that simply for the shock value.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being Gay or Bisexual, having said that, I do feel there are many things wrong with claiming to be something you are not. People that lie to others won't ever find happiness with themselves. People really need to learn to accept themselves, love themselves, and not worry what others think of them. They will be happier in the long run.

I would not say trendy. Isn't it part of what we have worked for. A small percent of our cause/fight is openness be it sexual or just your lifestyle in general. I agree that there are some women who desire attention and find that being openly "bisexual" is a way to get it BUT that is more a self esteem problem isn't it?

Well, a lot of it has to do with Hollywood stereotypes, and the belief, that being in a traditional marriage, is passe'.
But what's ironic, is that it's still a taboo, same sex acts, the dual partner is trying to imitate a guy.....arousing another female...and yes, if it's a legal term, I think most guys would like to be male lesbians....guys who like to watch women rolling around. If not....well....you're gay.

This whole sexual thing, is this your whole life. Do you live just for sex? Does this world not offer anything else for you. It sounds like everyone you know and everyone you meet is just living for sex. Have you ever heard of disease? Do you ever want a family, or would that just be a sex thing too? Listen to your self. Do you ever think these people are twisted, you are. I guess life, liberty and the per suit of happiness, is just sex for you and people like you. What about God. Where does He fit in this nasty little circle?

We are free to choose what we like sexually. We also have freedom to accept others. Besides, this has been going on since the beginning of time, nobody talked about it openly. Isn't it great that we are able to be free.
