Yes, the count starts from the first day of your period. the textbooks are guides only, not operation manuals. Your body will ovulate when it wants to!!

Yes. Your body can change it's "routine" at any time due to hormone levels, growth spurts, drugs (including prescription), and many more environmental effects. There is no set timeframe for safe unprotected sex. Many people who use the natural birth control method usually chart their periods, moods and emotions on a daily basis for months before having sex around the dates specified.
Always use a condom if you don't want to take the risk of pregnancy or other sexually transmitted diseases.
I would be more worried about these personally as many people may not even know they carry VD's or STD's.

Go buy the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Everyone has different ovulation cycles (when you can get pregnant) and this book will help you identify yours. It will help you get in touch with your own particular body and your unique rhythms.

Probably not, There is actually only a small time frame that you can get pregnant, but unfortunately please be careful because you could be the 1 in 100 that gets pregnant outside of that time frame.

OF COURSE YOU CAN! Girl, you and half the people who answered are stupid. Every time you have sex, you can get pregnant. Take it from a girl who's had a lot of sex, and a lot of babies.
