I know that it is politically incorrect, but I agree with you. As you say, you don't have to deny it, but it has become so sacrosanct that one is easily accused of being anti-Semitic if not in some way treating it as the most heinous crime in human history.
Neither do I demean it, but let's be honest that the Zionist cause has used for political ends with great success.
I also note the the Holocaust is not the exclusive property of the Jews. Gypsies, Poles, minorities of many races, the physically and mentally deformed, etc. were also victims. In fact, all those who did not fit the Aryan profile. Let us pay respect for all victims, then, and recognize it as history.

I think ELO has a point as well. We do need to study the WHOLE thing. Not just the Jews side. Yeah we need to study it because it is the main reason for the establishment of the Jewish State of Isreal. Want to talk about atrocities though what about Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia? What about Chairman Mao? What about Stalin, oh wait he did nothing wrong because the people he killed never exsisted. Of course we can't mention him because he helped us win WW2. What about Pinoche and the carvan of death? Now by today's history what about Rwandaa? So much history that we could study as well that we just ignore.

You need to realize that Jews have been persecuted and singled out for elimination for CENTURIES. They were the victims of the Crusades, the Inquisition, Pogroms, etc. Like one poster said, they do not forget easily.
Since the Jews have undergone so many trials and tribulations that it's impossible to tell them just to get over it.

the Holocaust gets so much attention because of two things: one, it was so massive in scope that it seems incredible. two, it has happened in recent human history.
this is not to say that there have not been other horrendous ethnic mass murders, history is unfortunately full of them. as for Stalin, he did not care what you were or what you believed in, he just killed because he wanted fear as an ally

I think we should always remind and be reminded of these atrocities.
I have a saying:
"Those who forget the past, it is not sure they will have a future".
singned by Rachel R.S. from Israel.

People bring it up for the same reason they bring up slavery. To make sure it doesn't happen again.
