Edinburgh does have an AIRPORT. Its ICAO designator is EGPH. I think it is called Turnhouse or at least used to be when I was an Air Traffic Controller [years ago LOL]

Edinburgh has not to my knowledge been defined as a capital city, though I know where you are coming from here.

I doubt if Canberra which is the capital of Australia has an International airport. (According to its website it IS an international airport but I have just looked up its schedule and not one flight comes from or goes to a destination OUTSIDE Australia!)

But then what IS an International Airport?

Um, Edinburgh has an international airport- it just costs more because it's a smaller city. That's why Glasgow is more often where people fly into.

As Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland - then you are saying there are no flights to ANY other country?
As there ARE flights to other countries, then it does have an International Airport.
Your Question is therefore invalid!

There is an international airport at Turnhouse but Abbotsinch (Glasgow) or Prestwick are better.

Many smaller African Countries don't have ANY international facilities. Take Lesotho for instance, Maputo is the capital but they have no international anything, they use South Africa's facilities.
