I believe that an entire family was murdered in the house because that 's a matter of fact. I don't believe that the Lutz family suffered any of the things they claim. I think they bought the house to cash in on the murders.

They've even admitted that they made up some of the stuff, so it's not hard to believe they made it all up. According to the book, the left the house with only the clothes on their backs but returned later to have a garage sale. If you're afraid for your life are you going to return to that house to have a garage sale? Me neither. None of the owners after them have reported anything strange happening.

To me, that screams load of rubbish. I believe in ghosts and hauntings, I just don't believe the Lutz family.

When a writer of a book or movie says "Based on a True Story," that usually means "We've taken a grain of truth and created complete fiction around it."

I'm willing to accept ghosts and so it might be possible but if you delve into the story behind he book, you discover that it was fiction. But one can always argue that the book was based on similiar incidents, which was the author's argument. I actually like the original Amityville Horror Film, it has a quirky charm.
