OD is a way of optimizing the functioning and processes in an organization by analyzing each unit and individual in it. it is presumed that by rearranging the whole organization to a more effective structure and procedures, the company or institution as a whole will benefit by increased job satisfaction and higher productivity, which basically means less turn over (employess resigning or being fired) and more money.
