I think the warning should actually be, "This product OBVIOUSLY contains nuts, DOY!"

people like to read the word nuts and they like to say nuts, and do you know what you have if you have nuts on your chin?

Peanuts are not nuts.
As the peanut is a member of the legume family unrelated to other nuts, individuals with peanut allergies may not be allergic to the other types of nuts, and vice-versa.
It is on there because there can be traces of real nuts in there and cause an alergic reaction.

Why do clothing irons warn you not to iron clothes while wearing them...or hairdryers warn you not to use while in the water...or any other number of what many of us would consider "common sense" warnings...
Apparently someone had a bad reaction (peanut allergies can be ugly) and said they didn't know it contained peanuts...kinda makes sense...I mean, hot dogs don't contain dogs (that we know of anyway)...so the name of a product doesn't necessarily mean it contains what it is named after...peanut butter contains peanuts, but not butter...

exactly, we sell peanuts at my work place and there's a label saying WARNING: This product DEFINITELY contains nuts
i know you can never be too careful where lawsuits and compensation is involved, but seriously how daft do u have to be to eat a bag of nuts and then claim u didn't know there was nuts in the bag?!

There are some really stupid people out there. Also, if it didn't list peanuts in the ingredients then someone would have an allergic reaction and sue the peanut butter company!

Apparently not, people cannot figure out a great deal of things on their own and that seems to be one of them. Could be the same people who don't know enough to use the Spell check on here. Have a good day!!

Yes they can sometimes. America has become so simplified everything is spelled out for the lazy people. I understand if you have allergies to certain foods or ingredients and need to know what's in things but most people anymore lack common sense it's truly astounding.

For those who might been allergic to it.Also you can see sometime on others kind of jars labels that is saying maybe contain nuts.

because if the company doesnt make the public aware of peanuts in the product and someone is deathly allergic then that company can be sued
