They are just a bunch of rednecks.
Once upon a time, they were the Knights of the White Camellia, attempting to keep order in the South after the Yankees had pretty much destroyed the governmental infrastructure. But vigilante-ism has a way of turning nasty, and the best and brightest in the South had been killed off in the war, so the morons started attacking the only folks they could get at - the freed slaves.
And so it goes.
In the 60s and 70s, the FBI did a real fine job of whittling the brains out of the KKK and today, the only folks you find running around in sheets are some seriously retarded white boys pretending to be scary ...
This is not to say they can't be dangerous. 'Tards can pull a trigger pretty well. But they are mostly being monitored by the FBI and state agencies to make sure they keep in line.

Yes,STUPID REDNECKS!! I lived in Modesto Cal for 6 years and that is were the head kkk live and I got to see how dumb they really are. Those people make no since and live life in a bubble of ignorance.

OH they do lots of things that are positive. They help their KKK brothers get home after the bar closes. Other things they do are:
They help little old ladies cross the street even if they don't WANT to cross.
They keep the local lumber yard in business by buying 4x4's to make crosses.
The dry cleaning place makes money dry cleaning all those robes and hoods.

My grandmother is from rural Alabama. She said that the KKK served as a sort of law enforcement for the rural areas. If a white man was stealing, beating his wife, etc... the KKK would make a visit to his home and take care of him.

The positive thing they do is by their example make people see what idiots they are and hopefully that encourages them not to follow their example.
