if the coin falls ahead of the man does it mean that the train is moving with acceleration or deceleration

If inside the train it will land in the same spot if he tosses it up. If he tosses it outside, the wind will push it behind the man.

It will definately fall ahead due to inertia. Inertia is the reluctance to move, also the 1st law of Isaac's Law of Motion. Masses take time to follow with the object it is on. For example, when you are in a train, and it is still stationary, your body is steady. But if the train suddenly zips off, your body is reluctant to follow with the train, so your body suddenly drops behind, but your feet with the train. Also objects have reluctance to slow down, so the coin carries on moving, unless the man throws it up very high. Hope that answers your question.

It will fall behind. As the man is standing firmly on the train, i mean he is some how holding on to the train by puttung his feet down but the coin when tossed is in no connection with the train so it will stay in the same position but the train is moving forward so it will fall behind.

It will fall in his hands if it is moving.BUT if the train is moving and a person tosses a coin and at that instant the train stops, then it will depend on the direction in which he was siting. If his face is in the direction if motion then it will fall in front of him,and if he is siting in the opposite direction the coin will drop at his back.

It will fall behind him as by the time the coin travels downward, the man would have travelled ahead due to moving train.

The coin is moving at the same speed as the train and the man, so it wont travel either way

Hi,

If the train is moving forwards not backwords in either case the coin will fall behind the man I think...

If he drops it by streching his arms out of a window for example, then coin will go behind him. Seems to easy!

Assuming it is tossed perfectly straight up, it depends whether the train is moving at constant velocity, accelerating, braking or going round a curve.

So, depending on conditions at the time of the toss, it could end up anywhere.

Depends on which direction he tosses the coin i.e. to the left, right, in front, in back or up and down?
