And no, you cannot just pick them out of the forest for the obvious reason that they are wild. Just some help in the right direction would be appreciated. Breeders exist in England, but cannot find any in Scotland.

Alright, alright, maybe I asked for it, but please, seriously, I would love a little hedgehog, but cannot finder a breeder close by. Does anyone know where I could find one?

No lectures on the validity of hedgehogs as pets. One could also argue birds, rats, mice, ferrets and guinea pigs were not meant to be pets, but they are and are dearly loved by their owners.

is it a normal woodland hedgehog you are after, or a pgmy hedgeghog?...
im not entirely sure where you will find a breeder in your area, but maybe you can try placing an advert on the adtrader website, for anybody with any information on breeders, etc. Also i know you can get hold of a hedgehoge book, ive seen it in most of my local pet shops, i believe it is made by the company called 'barrons' (they tend to make books for more rarer pets, ive got degus and theyve published a book on them), in the back of this book are some contact numbers of organisations etc where you maybe able to find some help....
sorry i couldnt be a bit more presice, but i hope its helped a little.

There have been may problems with hedgehogs in cotland and the surrounding islands, no doubt you are aware that there is a cull going on as we speak, many animal rights groups now catch the animals and bring them to the mainland to prevent them being destroyed.
I fear you will not find a breeder and rightly so, they are not pets

If you have a garden, you may already have a hedgehog! Try staying up all night and watch and listen carefully.
A little cat food left out may encourage them (and cats though)!
Look for the tell tale hedgehog poo. Very black and very smelly. Usually around the edge of the garden.

Please don't try and keep one captive though, that's just not right.

And please don't say that you live in a flat either. I would get really ever so cross then.
