I won't. He's a great actor and producer. No one is perfect and he apologized for the things he said.

The day that we start boycotting filmmakers/actors/etc. because we don't like their personal behavior (or their politics) is the day that we won't have very many movies to choose from.

I try not to concern myself with these people's personal lives, only their artistic output.

Not at all. I seperate the artist as person from the art (okay art may be a stretch). His coments were vile, his action (driving drunk) was reprehensable, but lets face it, not uncommon in USA.
The distrubing part is that he has gotten awy with these actions before (the drunk driving that is) and this time was almost swept under the rug as well, the disturbing part of all this is the police catering to a powerful man, no one is supposed to be above the law.

It's nice that he apologized, but the fact remains that he is an antisemite.

I think that so long as he doesn't spread the hate or act on it in any way, there is no need to demonstrate outside his house or anything ridiculous like that. As you said, no one is perfect, and he apologized.

However, I have no desire to put more money in his pocket by going to see his movies. After all, he did make racist statements about my race, and I see no reason to reward him by buying a ticket.

Yes it will. If he just was driving drunk (which is bad enough because he could have killed someone), but making all those statements makes my blood run cold. I don't want to give him any more money by seeing his movies.

believe me, all celebrities are like this only. From Drew Barrymore to Kirsten Alley...all have done done drugs and booze alike. And its no secret how "high" rock stars are. Would you stop listening to music too?
Judge their work, not their personal deeds!!!

No.

Hey, if average Joe and bob drank and made a remark, no one would care.

Great actor..although he shouldn't have apologized.

NO WAY!! Mel is the man, what he does in his personal life is his business, what he puts on the bigscreen is mine.

I don't like his movies anyway, but it wouldn't affect me watching one if I wanted to. I'm not going to "dixie chick" him.
