With some techinal knolage you can set up a network with windows and have shared folders. But, becareful, anyone on the network or any wardrivers (nerds in cars looking for wifi) can read them.

Using the Windows wireless network set up might work.Contol panel etc

save your files in a thumb drive & transfer to your laptop.. a breeze.. but you might need to do that many times if you have many big files..

use a flash disk.
copy you data on the old pc to the flash to the laptop
