this is something you have to figure out for yourself, dogs will follow you everywhere and slobber on you. cats will pick a perch and ignore you until they want to be petted or fed. dogs smell no matter how much you bathe them, cats have no body odor and they bathe themselves, dogs will chew up your shoes, cats will shred your upholstered furniture. both will pee and poop on the floor once in a while.dogs usually take up more room. both will shed hair. dogs are far noiser. dogs learn to do tricks you teach them, you will learn to play games the cat wants to play. cats usually will sit on anything they like and sleep where they want, dogs will often sleep just where you point out is ok. dogs are not smarter, they are pack animals and you are the pack leader to them, cats are generally solitary in the wild and they seldom consider anyone their boss. dogs will walk on a leash, cats seldom want to do that, dogs travel much better and like cars , cats usually hate cars and often get ill travelling.

hi well i have 3 cats and a dog 2 ferrets and 1 piggy i find cats are low matenice as long as they have clean trays and food they sleep alot and keep the bed warm good for people who work but dogs are really higher demand to do the job right i voulunteer at the animal shelter on the weekends and i really see so manny people who should of bought cats etc due to work load and family.

well it kinda depends if u work alot then a cat cause their easy to take care of but if u work a little either would be great, dogs you have to feed, walk,and pay alot of attention to it, same with cat but instead of walkin you clean out the litterpan every week. but whatever you decide just make sure you give your pet lots of love and care and it will do the same.

Always depends on who you ask.Some people like dogs better because they are more playful and people oriented.Some people like cats better because they are cleaner and low maintenance.
