Why is it hot on the top of a mountain? Sorry, but it isn't. It's cold.

Why is it cold? The Romans thought it would be cold as it is closer to the sun, and hense the story of Icarus (sp?).

The higher you go the thinner the atmosphere gets and so the less heat it can hold and so it is colder.

Because the bottom on bottom of mountain, and the middle on middle of mountain. The top has nowhere else to go.
