Its good that you think for the future. Honestly, we dont know what is going to happen in the future even with the best predictions. A meteor can hit our planet and wipe out the human race, a nuclear war may erupt and wipe out the whole planet, there are so many things that can happen that we will overlook. Just do what you can as an individual whether saving energy, or cleaning up the streets with litter. Just doing your part as a person in the community and you will be just fine. Worry about yourself first and people may follow you.

You don't have to do anything. Most people don't seem to care about anything but themselves these days anyway. Until the environment starts affecting their everyday life, that is. What do we think all of these changing weather patterns are about? Do we like suffocating in the summer? Maybe you haven't experienced a blackout, and living in excrutiating heat without ac yet. Didn't the horrendous suffering of so many last year due to the hurricanes have an effect on you? Or maybe that didn't touch your personal life either.
Have you ever thought about what kind of world your Grandchildren might grow old in, and raise their children in and try to enjoy thier Grands in?
But then, maybe you don't plan to have children.
What about the wondrous animals? Scientists say hundreds go extinct everyday...I could go on & on. The thing is, everyone better get it together, not just as individuals. We had better start paying close attention who we vote into office, who makes the laws and runs our country. They are doing more damage to our environment than we are.

1.Start by behaving like a saintly human being.
How?become a vegetarian,as God is most unhappy about the killing of animals for food-it's very bad karma! And it's also the cause of famine around the world:80% of grains are fed to animals!
2. Read the Bhagavad Gita-Srila Prabhupada-and get some knowledge about real spiritual life,as other scriptures have caused real harm to humanity.
3. Dedicate your life to God,and serve Him.Whatever happen to this world will not influence your life,as it's all temporary anyway. In 120 yrs we'll all die, sure.
4. Get away from any drugs if you're taking any,as you mind is badly influenced by them.
5. Have a pure life....
Chant hare krishna or any Name of God...

Did you know that a volcano will put out more pollutants in one day than man in one year? Not that I want our air to be polluted but some of the approaches are not realistic.

Well I'd have to say, "concern and empathy" is the main things that drives us human beings to help preserve and enhance our environment.
