Whatz your opinion?

Question

This is to narrate an incident which I read in local magazine , I want all of your opinion.
One month back there was a local ritual held some where in south part of India. The ritual start exactly at night 12.30 pm and every one from the village has to bring one goat along with them and when they reach the temple,
the temple priest cuts down the head of all goats , so like this uncountable number of goats all killed and there is a pool of blood reated ,
Allof a sudden the priest jumps in the pool of blood and lifts a goats head and drinks lots of blood this is followed by his fellow priest , Then next day when questioned about this activitiy the priest respond that they dont know anything .And there is a story from the villagers that they do all this every year to please their goddess
My Question
What is your opinion in this , should such ritual be conducted .
And if not what kind of punishment can be given .or share me your opinion. What are the laws or rules

Its hard to tell becourse you are not raised in that culture .you don't understand exactly what they do.

what do we eat ? Don't we kill animals?

hey.. im from india. this may or may not have happened. but it is very rare. it's not because its in India its weird. its jus generally weird. People who are ignorant have a lot of misconceptions abouts various rituals and believes Indians follow. And what you are talking about is just one of those weird things... Maybe it does exist somewhere in some part but it certainly doesn't represent anything or India in anyway. As a matter of fact we too are not familiar with this practice.

1. Report them to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and subject them to be punished accordingly by the local laws.
2. Cut off their heads and drink their blood (like they did to the goats), and ask how they like it!
