When someone says.."they better do something...or " they know that people need it"..or.."thats what they say".. Well who the hell are they? Ive been waiting for an answer since I was about 7. No I find myself telling people the same things about they yet They eludes me...is they Yahoo?

They i usually the government, school, parents, caretakers, people in the maitenance section running after the mess we make in the our office, or the computer guy,... mostly Me
anyone who you can shot at, like in the case of mobileoperators we should at the call desk and get all mad on THEM,
but THEY, Yes sir, Thank u for the compliment, sorry sir we are Working towards your wishes,sir this and sir that! but we dont know whether they hav a knife in thier arm and is thrashing a stuffed doll into bits madly

They are referencing the most qualified people, usually.
Example:
Situation: A broken faucet.
Remark: "They better fix it."
Explanation: Perhaps they live in an apartment and they are refering to the maintenance's ineptitude of being late to fix things.

They're just figures of expression really. I think it's just easier to say rather than having to label it with the appropriate person. For instance, in "they better do something", you don't know who that specific person is so you just replace it with 'they' and you got yourself a conversation starter.

"They" are a group of people who live in the woods. There are 7 of them and together they formulate those what are called "they".
