Predestination would remove the concept of free will and there is no definitive version of his death. If he did not commit suicide then he should not be in Hell as he repented his act.

Interesting, even for atheists. I 've seen one movie where Judas is taken for a vampire because vampires are afraid of silver - 30 coins of silver that Judas was paid to betray Christ; afraid of cross because of his betrayal to Christianity. Fiction but interesting.
If he really existed in the first place, no one ever recorded in Bible or anywhere that Judas really killed himself. And if he did , that should be the first contradiction in Christian version of Heaven& Hell. He repented but he killed himself.
Have You noticed how many contradictions are there in Christianity rules?

Predestination would absolve everyone of all crime. The Catholic Church teaches free will, not predestination. Then Judas Iscariot is quite guilty of betraying Jesus. True enough.

If he also committed suicide, which is undetermined, then he also threw away God's gift of life which is yet another mortal sin (no pun intended).

If he did not commit suicide, repented, asked forgiveness and amended his ways, then I would agree with your statement, "he should not be in Hell..." Which is why some speculate that Judas Iscariot, even today, walks among us.

I once met a street person (on the streets of Houston) who did not know I was working undercover and assured me that he was Judas Iscariot, the Traitor. He added that he had been sent back to write everything down, and he showed me a pocket notebook with page after page of tight, neatly written script. The characters appeared to be Aramaic or Hebrew letters, but I don't read Hebrew nor Aramaic so who knows!

The question of Judas' final reward, Heaven or Hell, is really up to God. We can only speculate.

Judas' guilt depends entirley on things we can never know barring the second coming of Christ. Some say that he was forced to turn in his Lord, despite being "favored" I believe it is put in some gospels (Gnostic Gospel of Judas). Some pop culture references like "Lamb: the gospel according to Christ's good pal Biff" by Christopher Moore say he was guilty then repented and hung himself. Another, much less important source says he became Dracula...(Dracula 2000) either way, it is important to reconcile history in your own beliefs, Judas hung himself, that could be the sign of a guilty man who repents in the wrong way. If Judas did not hang himself, and spent the rest of his life believing in the Lord, then he was forgiven for his guilt, but that is all supposition on his guilt. Like I said, it's a matter of belief, and faith. We may never know.

Not guilty. As you say, simply due to predestination. God apparently knows everything past, present and future therefore he would know our deeds before we do. Not only that, according to the bible, he already chose those who will be in heaven before WE were even a twinkle in our parents eyes.
According to christian belief, if the bible is to be believed, Free Will cannot exist.

Judas did what had to be down in order for Christ to fulfill the prophecy. He was an agent of God and in that sense was the bravest and most committed of the disciples, as he risked everything, including his life and his everlasting reputation, for Christ to complete his ministry.

Like you said, we do not know that he did kill his self. In the bible it tells how he hung his self, however, this could have meant, that he set his destiny rolling by his actions and not to be taken literally. Because later in the bible it also tells that he was murdered by being thrown over a cliff. So no, if he was murdered, he shouldn't be in hell.

jesus had to die, nobody is guilty of condemming jesus or crucifying him. judas had to betray him and then hang himself. everybodys fate was sealed from the minute jesus became man. some may view judas as a traitor i dont.

Judas was Jesus' tool. He listened and did as he was told to do by his suicidal rabbi.
