No.

The US has a much stronger Navy that actually works. Russia is having problems getting working ships into the water.

The US has a much better Air Force. Our latest fighters can fly rings around the Russians and Russia has no stealth technology (unless Bubba gave it to them).

Russia is nowhere near the military power it used to be. The US spends quite a bit more than Russia by now.

The US spends about 336 billion dollars per year (In 2003-2004). Japan was next with 47 billion. Russia didn't even come close in spending on military, at about 33 billion. This has been in large part due to Russia's hideous inflation rate during the 90's.

Russia's space program isn't spending anywhere NEAR what it needs to in order to re-sustain itself after the post-Soviet conversion of the country. For more information on that, here's a good article: http://www.space.com/news/russia_space_041004.html

Space yes, technology possibly, military power no. Military power requires both the equipment and the Logistics ability to use it. Russia logistical cannot come close to the US. To fight an Army you have to keep it fed, clothed and supplied with Fuel, Ammo, medical supplies etc etc.

i might say it is China...yet their forces might in basic terms fairly be clever in East Asia. Britain and France are next. Germany and Japan ought to be authentic powers in the event that they upped their spending. India has a effectual defense force now besides. Russia continues to be 2nd because it could nonetheless deploy important forces international. you need to be careful whilst finding at defense force expenditure. in basic terms in the present day the united kingdom government became boasting approximately being 2nd interior the international in defense force expenditure. yet international locations like China, France and Russia use area, technological know-how and different budgets for defense force expenditure, so it is harder to artwork out how plenty they actually spend.
