If you can then follow the following steps:
1) Open all the screws of your table fan and remember all the places from where you have opened it.
2) Then just connect the same coloured wires which are looking as if they are broken down due to some short circuit.
3) At last tight all the screws which you have opened.
'OR'
You can call the electrician.

First check your table fan plug top , check the fuse ,and the wire are connected properly.
If all this are OK fix the plug to your AC socket and switch on the fan and also check if there is any timer.Still not working pls call the serviceman Might need servicing and greasing.

If it is plugged in and still wont work and you dont know anything about electricity I would suggest you go to Walmart. I saw table fans on sale there for $7.00. It would cost you more to pay an electrician to fix your old fan. m

ok i just fixed a fan at work by spraying the bearing behind the fan blade i twisted the fan in reverse to unscrew it then squrited some spray silicone into the bearing area and put blade back on and spun it which freed up the bearing and it worked. ....goood luck...mike

turn it [does it hum?] on & try to get the blade started with a push [whatever u can get on blade to move it]. maybe you need to jiggle the switch ?[does it hum?] if u cant get it to hum, trash it.
does the fan take oil, old fans did have 2 holes on top in front & back of the motor & guess what u're supposed to do to the oilholes?. if it runs try to run it upside down for a while.
that sucker has another life in it if u can run it upside down. something to do with gravity wear & tear. good luck.
