1. First check the reception by going to Control Panel and Mouse.

2. Then check the batteries of your mouse.

3. In the Mouse properties tab, check what function you have assigned for the right mouse button.

If those still doesn't get it working, buy a new mouse.

You can buy another one.. wireless or not.. It will work.. and your keyboard will still work too ^_^;; If you get a wireless one it will come with another "wireless receiver" for your mouse so don't worry ^_^;;
It doesn't matter what brand

In my opinion, for mouse & keboards, you should follow 'use & throw' strategy. Just get a new mouse and keep on working on computer

By the way, Microsoft won't give you an award for only using their mouse & keyboards. So get any damn mouse and use it buddy......

Any brand should work, provided you have the right drivers.
