It depends on what game it is, and what kind of image you want your guild to project. Is it a space game? a fantasy one? or something different?
There are some guild name generators that may help you if you are after a fantasy one.

Be creative. What does the guild stand for? What is it's purpose of being?
Some examples (all are already taken, to the best of my knowledge, within Guild Wars, and some extend beyond [such as BR, XoO, and WM]) :
Of creativity:
Black Rose Gaming
Xen of Order
Sissy Boys (who were truly far from being such)
Of purpose:
Lady Blue Steel's Running Academy
Iron Gauntlet
Knights of the Cross
Of shared interests:
Adult Swim
Iyanden Wraithguards
Evening News
Of shared skills:
War Machine
Legion of Devistation
Most of all, it's not about coolness... it's about self-expression of what you want your guild to be. A good name (such as Death's Head Legion) is not going to be as effective if your guildies don't quite fit the bill (a bunch of disorganized pacifists).
