Perhaps he is trying to impress Condi with his manhandling. (Though she seems to have to clean up his messes.)

I don't think that President Bush is capable of manhandling anyone. He is just obsessed with the idea of "righting" what he considers to be wrong with this world. Unfortunately some of his ideology and methods may not be up to speed with modern times. However, you can not fault him for thinking the way he does and he most certainly believes in doing what he considers to be the right thing.

A good example of this? He truly believes that by bringing democracy to the Middle East, you can eliminate hate and therefore eliminate terrorism and thus America will be safe for ever. Now, this is a very noble notion, but oh so naive! Because for democracy, American style democracy, to truly work in the Middle East, we need to dismantle thousands of years of culture over-laps and deep rooted dislikes, amongst the people of that part of the world. Perhaps it is the right path, but it is going to take a very long time. It can not happen in George W. Bush's life time. Also, is it really worth it? Is it also good for America? Look at the negative impact it causes in the hearts and the minds of people outside of America. Your question is a reflection of this attitude. Is it worth it? The answer is NO.

George W. Bush, basically is a hopeless dreamer, who means well. But certainly not a manhandler. He knows not what he does!

Bush manhandling the world? Grow up and educate yourself without newspapers and TV news.

Lasher makes a good point. He is sitting around his living room, smuthered in peanut butter, wearing women's underwear, yelling I will rule the world!

What does your manhandling statement refer to? Iraq, Afghanistan? I guess the Israeli-Hizbalaah conflict and Israeli-Hamas conflict is his fault as well??

I don't think he is manhandling in the true sense of the statement. Is he misguided, probably. Does he need to rethink his foriegn policy, definately. But he isn't out saying "Screw the international community I will rule you all eventually." He isn't Hitler. In his heart of hearts he thinks he is doing something good for the world and he wants to leave a legacy of a great man.

Tell you what though, he definately comes across as aloof.

Not particularly.

I think his international policies stink, but once you get outside of the US, you realise that they really don't have half as much impact on the rest of the world as you think. Believe it or not folks, even though America is a super power, there are huge, huuuge parts of the world quite happily turning without giving a damn about America. They are not the be all and end all of the universe.

If trying to defend his country from terrorism is manhandling then I guess so.

Pretty much. He destroyed whatever foreign policies we had that aided the US. Now, the international community is against us for what we did to Iraq and Afganistan, for supplying military equipment to Israel ...
