The only correct thing written in our question above is the word "error". Unless ou're talking about people that have been sexually transformed. No mathematical equation could restore your thought process, sorry.

That's ridiculous!

Your Grandfather might be your father's STEP-brother - if your great-grandfather (your grandfather's father) married your grandmother...! IF your grandfather had a sex change, maybe (s)he married your great-grandmother - who had ALSO had a sex change...?!! Then your grandfather MIGHT possibly end up as your father's step-sister...!

Not only is that scary, it's mind-numbing too...!

This 'grandfather' who is married to your great-grandmother ... he might be your brother's cousin ... if your brother is only your half- or step-brother... but my head hurts, I give up...!!

I don't see how the answer can be 'a son' though...

Your grand FATHER is your father's SISTER? Is some kind of sex change operation involved here? "Father" denotes a MALE person, "sister" denotes a FEMALE person. You've left something out and/or badly scrambled the question.
