It is true and its in the works, starring Kira, Athrun, Lacus, Cagalli and Shinn. I have seen the teaser trailer at the Sony Music Anime Fes last June. BELIEVE!
But don't ask me about any plot details cause Sunrise hasn't revealed anything as of late. I think they might continue after the events of the final plus phase, but this is just my speculation.
