that Harleys are most probably the sexiest motorcycle in the world. Just because its not very fast doesn't mean that it has any less charisma than a Jap bike (Actually, come to think of it, that's not very hard to beat, all Jap bikes look the same!!)

The rhythm of a Harley engine is what makes it so incredible. It is like the heartbeat of a huge beastly animal. Even Harley's with factory pipes leave that impression. If crotch rockets have speed and pizazz, Harley's have soul and class. And that monster torque that makes them pull like a freight train even with two people on board is just awesome.
And when you consider that you can own a Harley starting at $13000 for the big twin, that sure beats paying $30000 for a custom bike.

I am into vintage Harley. I love the look, the sound, the smell, and the looks I get. I ride an old IronHead Sportster most of the time. I am working on getting the parts together to build an old PanHead Road King. Sport bikes are fine if all you are interested in is speed. They are uncomfortable, I would never take an OTR run on one.
When I wanna go fast, that's what Mustang is for.
Keep the rubber side down. Don't lose your head, wear a helmet.

I love my Harley more than anything else in the world. No exaggeration. Im not sure if they are the best but I wouldn't trade mine for anything else. Not even another Harley. I will buy more in the future, but never give up my first.
I think Harleys are great if you are that kind of biker. If you like speed and cornering well then don't get a harley.
Honestly I don't worry to much about the name on the gas tank. I say if you love riding, and you have a bike, you are always welcome to ride next to me.
Its just about the ride!

There is nothing like the feel and the sound of cruising around town at low rpms on a Harley.
I think it's funny when I'm enjoying the scenery at 40 mph and some metric guy blows by me at 75 then brags how he smoked my shoes off.
As far as custom choppers go....what is the parts availability for a Jesse James in say.....Sturgis? Does Martin Bros offer roadside assistance? I don't think a 1000 lb motorcycle fits the definition of a chopper.
And Bluffmike? Using American Angst is like a lib using msnbc to validate their views. Ride safe you Harley hatin varmint.

No, I don't agree. I'm a Harley fan - to a point. Some models are better looking than others. But the styling could use some updating, but that's also the charm to many of the folks who like a bike that looks like it was back in the 1950s.

No question - Harleys are the only real motorcycles!
Next in line would be any British bike, with Jap crap trailing up behind!!!

I have a lot of friends that own Harleys...some of them are really nice (beautiful) bikes...but so are many others of other makes...one of the best reasons I've heard for owning a Harley is resale value...they tend to hold their value better than other bikes...which if you consider what they cost, is a huge plus!

Harley is a poor man chopper. Try a Jesse James chopper or a Martin Brothers chopper. You dumb that Harley instantly.

Nope, I can't agree with you. I have to admit that ANY cruiser which has been customized and is covered in chrome is beautiful. So at first glance, I could agree that they're sexy. But then I think about how boring they are (to me) to ride.
Sport bikes aren't the best looking (except for the 1999 Hayabusa!!!), even when customized with paint jobs and whatever, but after the first glance, when I think about how it FEELS to ride one - that's when I get excited!
