I know, "tourist-ey" isn't a word, but I'm moving there, and I would like to know what true Bostonians do! I love the Sox, been to Fenway, and taken hella lotta tours there already.

There are tons of things to do in Boston without needing to hang a giant camera around your neck. There is a place called Cold Stone Creamery near Boston Common that has the best ice cream anywhere. I highly recommend the sweet cream or the cake batter. Both excellent choices.
You can go to this tiny little place called El Taqueria which is near Fenway but on a tiny little side street. Excellent Mexican type food and fast too. The quesadillas are awesome there but nothing is less than terrific.
Go to the North End and don't go to Mike's Pastry. They may make excellent desserts but you are pegged as a tourist the second you walk in there. Find a different bakery in the area. There are no bad ones. And tiny hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurants are the best ones.

I sound like a fat kid. Enjoy the city.

not touristy? hmm

well the duck tours are fun, and most people that are "boston natives" have gone on them even though tourists do too, sometimes its just fun to kill some time and get a different kinda tour of boston

the galleria mall is great, walking around on newbury street (home of the original newbury comics dvd and CD store as well as the infamous condom world), going to ***** last resort (best restaraunt ever, located right in the heart of boston in fanuiel hall its more adultish fun, i think they have some in other states too), hit the beaches, theres some fun haunted places in boston that i check out when im bored, going to baseball games is fun when you have the money, they have a lot of free concerts @ the hatshell in boston....

you can look up those places on yahoo they might have more info, but thats some of the more popular things to do here.....plus of course theres tons of pubs and nightclubs if you're of age

Visit the "North End" lots of great Italian restaurants and bakeries in a real Italian ethnic neighborhood. From there you can walk to the waterfront. Take a ferry to the Boston Harbor Islands for a bit of hiking, picnic, or just to spend a few peaceful hours away from it all (great views of the city).

1. Throwing rocks over the wall at the Kennedy Compound.

2. Catching Ted Kennedy passing back in a limo and making "big belly" motions at him or "drunken sot" gestures if you can do them.
