I always use shaving gel and a sharp razor. I have heard that shaving right before you get out of the shower is better because the hot water will soften the hair, so i always do that. I have used deoderant that is supposed to help razor burn. I have tried veet bladeless shaving, but my hair is too thick and it doesnt work on it. please...help me. i am so self conscience about it and i dont know what to do.

I have the same problem...whatever you do DONT NOT USE NAIR.....i used it a couple of days ago because ever time i shaved my armpits it seems like i didnt shave them at all...i followed the directions and when i put it on it started burning and i started to bleed where i had razor burn bumps....my armpits burned for 2 days straight i couldnt even put deodrant on..i have thick hair to and nothing has seemed to work for me but why you might get razor bumps is from the anti-perspirant that you use everyday and when you go to shave your armpits it cause those bumps and ingrown hair,,,,,go get some witch hazel and apply it on with a cotton ball before you shave but wait until you razor burn goes away because it will burn them...

When I get razor burn from shaving I wipe on Witch Hazel. No I'm not making this up. You get it at the pharmacy near the alcohol. It's very soothing and cooling. Makes the burn go right away. Hope it helps.

I would consider Nair if I were you or something of that nature...if that doesnt help you either going to have to deal with it or go get it lasered which is costly or have electrolosys done to permanently remove the hairs.
