Well, it really depends on where you go in the U.S. For a cup of coffee and a bagel, some places might charge between $2 - $15 For example, you can go to a gambling city like Las Vegas or Atlantic City and eat lavishly at an all-you-can-eat buffet bars for reasonable prices. The price range varies from Casinos/restaurants, but it can go low as $5 per plate to around $20 per plate. If you travel to the southern states, there are many family-style restaurants that also provides a good hearty meal for about $10-15. On the flip side, there are numberous places to eat where it can be very costly - New York is definetly one of these places. A burger and fries can be as cheap as $6 in a fast food restaurant or $50 in a fancy restaurant. But, getting back to your question, as a New Yorker, I would spend about $5-6 on a bagel with cheese and a cup of coffee (Starbucks); about $7-13 on a "fast" lunch -whether it's a sandwich or salad; or about $15-23 at a sit-down restaurant. For dinner, maybe a pasta dish with chicken for about $20. Again, the key is it depends on where you go,what you want to eat, and how much you are willing to spend.

Good Luck and Happy Eating!

I will assume that you mean in a destination restaurant and not fast food. It is customary to leave a 15% to 20% Tip in the U.S. (I usaually leave at least a few dollars) so I would figure about $10-$12 for Breakfast and Lunch and $14-$20 for dinner. This represents food beverage and Tip/Gratuity
