If you have the book, find the cover page, flip the page - usually the Cataloguing in Publication data is on the back. The ISBN will be there. Sometimes you'll find it on the back of the book with the bar code.
If you have just the title of the book, you can do a search for the book on-line. Most sellers' websites will list the ISBN. Another place to look is a library's website. If they have the book, they'll list the ISBN in the description. The publication Books in Print is yet another source, but not as quick as just doing a simple internet search.

the ISBN number is usually found on the title page in the front of the book. Before the table of contents. It says where and who published the book.....if it is older than 1970 then there is no ISBN...it is the dewey decimal system.
