What is a Blue Screen of Death?
The Blue Screen of Death, or more properly the 'Windows stop message' occurs when Windows detects a problem or error from which it cannot recover. The operating system halts and diagnostic information is displayed on a blue screen. In newer versions of the operating system, the contents of the PC's memory are dumped to a file for later analysis.
This site will further explain it and you can fix it this way or just reformat your computer.

Its time for you to use process of elimination, first start with your monitor are you sure it is working right, next go to your graphics card is it right take it out if you can and try to use the integrated video, if you are already using integrated video then troubleshoot your video, make sure your monitor is plugged in the computer right, check the plug look for any bent wires, if none of these things are the problem then you might have to try reinstalling windows, I haven't heard of this problem but I have seen similar problem where the color was all messed up, this was due to a bent wire on the plug of the monitor.

type in msconfig in the run box and find out what is running when you start the pc, it will be under startup the last tab in msconfig. uncheck anything you don't think belongs there. look at the second row where programs are partially lisited, to help you figure out what it is. If you not sure on it don't remove the check mark. after you do this it will say to reboot and after you do a box will pop up and you just check the little box to not remind you again.

i actually had that once and the end result of getting rid of it was hilarious. this will sound funny but try moving the mouse around the top right corner of the covered area. if you have the same wacky program i had, you might see the word "close" and an x if the mouse is hovering over it.
yeah, sounds uber weird but im serious, it happened to me before.

Maybe a teeny little part of the virus is still there. Run a virus scan on it
