There are two types of war: JUST war and UNJUST war..

just war is when u stop the oppression being given to you..

unjust war is when you aggress people of a nation for the for fame and power..

terrorism by its defiinition is unjust..

it is hard not to fight arms with arms.. so if violence is already present, most likely, the answer is violence (just war)

in any case civilians should always be safe.. the target should be directly given to the agressor..

depends on which society that you ask. Some who live there might say that violence is the only way. Others might agree with your statement that the only way to stop all this is through nonviolent acts. Religion is a funny thing. When thrown into the formula of this question, there are those who commit these violent acts and then say it's okay b/c it's in the name of religion.
Look at it from different perspectives.

Terrorism is never justified, because terrorism kills innocent people,ladies and children.
as you mentioned Islamic countries are being ill treated. answer of this part is Islamic countries have never been united, so in a way these countries are responsible for it.
lastly i would like to say idea of a country based on religion is always bad. instead of Islamic or any other religious country why not we have secular countries.
religion in politics pushes a nations more backwards.
