Yup - F8 while booting (before log in screen).
If this doesn't work - insert your windows CD/ Disc and it should offer you options for startup (safe mode etc.)

While switching on the Computer keep pressing F8 and then the options for the boot will come and you can select the boot safe mode option from there.

If your operating system is windows XP... then this is how...
After pushing the start button of your CPU.
Press delete key in your keyboard continuously then... the options for starting your computer will appear on the sreen.
Use arrow keys to choose "start windows on safe mode". then press "enter"
Your computer will start in safe mode.

Hi,
In Windows XP I press either F8 or F5 before I see the Windows logo screen...
On earlier versions I used F5...

Another secret is using F5!
F8 and F5 will work ONLY if your timeout in c:\boot.ini is greater than 0.
