If he's never had either onions or garlic, then it's a tiny bit risky. You should only introduce *one* new food at a time. But neither one is very allergenic, so it will probably be fine (assuming he's had all the other ingredients before in other forms).

Just be sure he only has a little. Pumpkin is really high in vitamin A (technically beta carotene--pro-vitamin A), and too much can turn his skin yellow. As long as it's only occasionally and short term, it's not a health problem, but it really looks weird!!

As long as there isn't a lot of garlic, I'd say go for it. (Small children have a more sensitive sense of taste then we adults do). A lot of garlic may make them not accept it. Plus as with introducing any new food you'll have to be sure to watch for signs of food allergys. Sounds delisious! Go ahead let them try it.

Lucky baby! Just a little bit, the garlic and onion may make him a little more gassy than usual.

Okay my little one is 1 year and 1 month and she eats anything. I feel safe giving her most things, as long as you would eat them then they will to. I dont know why, but my little one loves lemons, i dont give them to her regularly, but lemons was a shocker food. Pumkin is probably a great food to give your little one. After 4-6 months the digestive tract has matured enough to handle most foods. But to much garlic might scare away the grandparents.. Garlic burp is bad :)

yes, by that age he/she should be able to eat the soup...in fact, research proves, that babies 6 months should be taken off of the bottle and fed baby food...by now, the baby should be ready to eat soup! and other regular foods as well...
