If there is no room for advancement where you are, then you should start slowly & carefully to get yourself & your resume back into circulation while you are still employed. You need to be careful how you word your resume or application in order to avoid looking like a "flakey" type of person. How is your present employer going to handle a telephone call from another business that calls to verify your employment or asks for a reference? It will help you if you already know or get to know the person who will be fielding these type of phone inquiries & they can let you know who has called & possibly can let you in on what was said about you! Anytime is right to start applying for a new job, but beware that people sometimes are fired when their current Boss gets wind of their intention to leave for another opportunity.

You want to look for some type of stability. You want a job where you don't spend a lot of your time commuting. Don't get a boring position that has no where to go or you can't move up. You want raises and bonuses. The atmosphere and the people should be nice to work with. I am tired of working for someone else now and have started my own business within a company I found out about. You are your own boss and can set your own hours with free trips that the company pays for. Many people make 6 to 7 figures a year. I hope you find what you are looking for. If you think you may be interested in financial planning for families, send me an e-mail to brwnsugar23@yahoo.com and just reference WFG. Even if you take time off from work, you still get paid (8 times per month). I will respond back to you.

I can answer you question, as I'm currently looking for another job.
I'm in the same company since Oct 2001. The salary is just ok, I didn't have many raise in 5 years, but the job was interesting, s I stayed in that company, even if I knew I could get a better salary if I quit to go in another company.
Now I'm on a new project which is very boring. And the salary's not better. So I decided to quit.
I'm looking for a new job, with a better salary, and an interesting project to do. And when I'll find this job, I'll quit my actual job.
So to sum-up, if you're bored in your job, find another one.
If you like your job, you can keep it, unless you want a better salary.
