I have not done anything to change my life. However, I have taken the steps toward finally doing something which has been a long time dream of mine for many year.

I woke up and made all the arrangements this morning, to climb Mr. Kilimanjaro.

My family has always tried to talk me out of this madness, because of my age factor. I am 53 with a small heart problem but I feel fit enough to do this. I have felt fit enough to do this for a very long time. But the circumstances, such as time, money factors, family negatives, health, etc., always stood in the way.

This morning was different however. I woke up and said to myself, "SCREW IT! Today is the first day of the rest of my life. If I don't do it now, I never will. So whats it gonna be?"

And the rest as they say, is history.

I leave for Dar E Salaam on first of October!

was feeling really negative today as my lads are going to their dads for three days and two nights, i really miss them when they just go for two days so three was really bad. however, i have not been crying like i usually do, cause i have my little girl to concentrate on, but went into town, done a little shopping which i would never do usually cause people ALWAYS say, where are the boys, and i have a near nervous breakdown. and tomorrow i am taking little girl swimming which i have never done without the lads, and sunday we are going to the cinema. should be busy. hope this inspires someone out there to take charge of their lives, even if they are not in the same circumstances as me.

have had a semi beautiful day, but it will only get better.
love tina.

this may not be all inspiring to all readers, so sorry, but i feel much better for writing it all down. x

Firstly - well done Oliver for asking such a brilliant question. It's positive and filled with courage.

It has made me think - what do I want to do with my life.

People are so negative and conservative nowadays and use factors such as money, time, family etc get in the way of their ambition. I mean whats a life - without passion, goals..etc?

I do not want to be in the position I am in now in the next 10 years. And yes, it is up to the individual to change their life.

The only thing stopping YOU is YOU.

Take care all and hope you fulfil your life ambitions! Positive attitude is what it takes!

I awoke, looked in the mirror - directly into my eyes and said ' hello, l like you'

How little time we spend with ourselves, or see the beauty we have within - how can we ever find beauty in others without viewing our own first.

Remember - we live in a beautiful world, its simply the mess of others that so often spoils it.

Take care all of you lovely people out there!

In response to Chandru M- does Mrs Kilimanjaro know? In all seriousness,my bro, who's been married for 15 years went up Mt Kilimanjaro last Christmas and paid for his wife and children to go to New Zealand to be with her family. While there, she had sex with her fathers best friend and got pregnant...also he didn't get to the top coz he got altitude sickness,in fact, only the guide and one other person got to the top-hope you have a better time...!

I admire your optimistic and energetic view on things shame we cant all see things the way you do....ciao for now

OOh, you decided to grace us with your hottie-hotness, that makes our day better. Just kidding. (happily married)
I do the same thing everyday, but I wake up every night (work overnight) thankful to be alive. That always inspiris me to make the best out of my day...even death has it's good sides, sad to know my Great-grandpa died on the 31st. but upside is he is not in pain anymore and he is with his children passed.

So.... always look to the good things and "life" will be the inspiration (even in death).
