Im sixteen, but i happen to love classical music.. I love Nocturne by chopin. Thats my favorite, but you would be hard pressed to find one i dont like. Whatever mood you are in the music seems to fit snug in place. Sometimes as you are thinking, a song will move with you, ups and downs, angry and soft. It seems to fit the thoughts every second the music flows as the thoughts do. Cool isnt always internal. Cool is for show, everyone secretly likes things they wont admit. Rap is supposedly cool today, very risque and thats why most like it. When classical music WAS "the new thing" it was a rebellious genre at the time. Perhaps the music still fits today more than people know.

Me! =) I love Chopin the most, but I admit there were many virtuousic players before him. but i like all kinds of music.
I think most people who don't have a background in classical music (ex: didn't grow up playing the violin/piano, or listen to it around the house) don't have enough knowledge of classical music to appreciate it. I think people who enjoy classical music are those who know at least a little bit about it. To people who don't usually listen to it, they say "it all sounds the same" but that's actually not true. there's many periods of "classical" (like baroque, romantic, etc etc). Once in a while you do find someone who likes classical music in general just because it's soothing.
Some may find it boring because it has no lyrics, but if it's good, the music will speak for itself.
as for the "coolness" factor, it's probably not as cool as other popular music that's more popular nowadays, but again, i think that's because classical is an acquired taste, but anyone can just turn on the radio and listen to the top hits.

Ahh I love classical music.
It's so versatile, and I can always appreciate the musical content compared to the boring repetitive songs people listen to today.
I think the reason why it is not very popular is because people just don't understand or appreciate it. These days, everything has to be loud, and something with a few catchy lines that people can sing along with.
With classical music, it's really more about listening and appreciating the beauty of the music, rather than dancing like a fool or shouting out lyrics.

Classical seems to have something for whatever kind of mood you are in! I like to have it playing low in the background when I'm trying to just relax or when I'm studying.
