There are many different types of species of shrews. Most people think that they have never seen one, when in fact, what they think running around through the leaves is a mouse, is in fact a shrew.

Any mammal can eat it's offspring. I don't see why the shrew would be any different. A baby shrew looks similiar to an adult shrew, only smaller.
