No there are plenty of honest poor people. The problem comes when people are raised without a moral compass. If everybody in the neighborhood is a criminal and you have no one at home to teach you right from wrong then you too will become a criminal. However one can be poor as dirt and have morals taught to you at home and go on to do great things (legally).
"When men first come into contact with crime, they abhor it. If they remain in contact with crime for a time, they become accustomed to it, and endure it. If they remain in contact with it long enough, they finally embrace it and become influenced by it."

Poverty is not the cause of violence. People show no concern for those in poverty. Violence is because we are living in the last days as the bible mentions. Jesus said that a sign of the last days would be violent people. Many people also blame violence on god, but god does not control the world, yes he created it, but the bible says the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one referring to Satan, the devil. Violence is also caused by people's own doing. But violence and poverty will soon be gone? How? by justice(psalms 72:4) peace (psalms 72:2) compassion (psalms 72:12-14 and prosperity (psalm 72:17) that is what the bible teaches

Sorry I don't think so... I think it is an environment that does not help.. but a lot of people who are very poor do not cause violence... but I think that some people like to use it as an excuse..... but evil is the only reason for violence... sad but true.. :(

No-a lack of morals. Many people do survive poverty without violence.
No matter how many reasons or excuses people give it comes down to a lack of morals. Many in the Severest of poverty still keep their values. How do they do it? They have high moral standards.
