My advice is to speak to a lawyer and the best, most inexpensive way to do this is through Pre-Paid Legal Services. For more information visit the website below, and feel free to contact me through that site if you have further questions on how this service may be able to help you. I encourage you to find out what your rights and options are in this situation.

I wish you the best of luck.

I would think that your father might be able to make his grandson a dependent without the process of adoption.
And if you give up your parental rights you may have trouble getting them back later. This may not be meanness on your parents part. They may only be looking out for your son.
If possible, I suggest that you ask a lawyer about the adoption laws in your state.

Rather than adopting your son perhaps your parents can be named legal guardians of him for now until your legal issues are cleared up. That way you don't give up your parental rights and will be able to straighten up your life and have your son with you again. You are very blessed to have such understanding parents who want to help you figure this out. As long as you all do what is in the best interests of your son everything should work out.

As long as your father lets you take him you can. But if your father tries to stop you for any reason then you cant. You are doing the right thing by letting your parents take your son instead of the state. You will have more of a chance to have a life with your son after you get out! Good luck.

Legally he won't be yours anymore so no, but if you have an arrangement with your father to take him back nobody is going to come take your son away from you if/when you do. Basically, the state doesn't care as long as the child is taken care of (and even that is stretching it). So you don't have anything to worry about. If you don't agree to let somebody adopt him and he goes into state foster care there is a possibility you could loose him forever.

Hun I was threated by jail and that's why my mom got custody or my son because I knew that if I went to jail that he would have gone to his father and I wasnt haveing that, so i volunteered to give her custody, and now that I know Iam fine and everything is fine all we have to do is go back to court and give me back the custody, when im ready but truely if my mom didnt want to give it back then it will be harder so hun its really on your father, to give it back once everything is striaght to the fact that judges like to get the parents back with theres kids. For a verify to resign their rights, they might desire to comply with it....till this is something severe, like he's a baby molester or something and the choose does it. yet even then, the courts are hesitant to do away with a mothers and dads rights like that. If he truly needs no longer something to do with the baby, then he will in all probability comply with it. yet, he additionally heavily isn't in charge for baby help the two-which you sound such as you're nice with. i could advise speaking to him approximately it, and then pass see a attorney to artwork out the main factors, which you will would desire to do besides on your father to undertake the toddler. And, i could advise doing it by way of "legal skill" as unfavorable to in basic terms leaving him off the beginning certificates, through fact if he makes a decision 2-5 years or in spite of from now, he has a metamorphosis of heart and he needs to initiate having touch or such with the baby, he will maximum probably get some style of visitation. merely suitable to deal with it the suitable suited way the 1st time around :) solid success!
