If the Cobra blows up or there's an earthquake & the Cobra's lane disappears, that's about the only way a Honda Civic could beat a 427 Cobra. By the way , Cobras were not built for drag racing, but for high performance, long distance racing, but they would still smoke the Honda & any other production Jap junk

If the Cobra has a true 769 hp, the Civic better be 'really' suped up. 769 ain't no joke.

First of all, it's not just the car, it's also the driver. More importantly, it's the transmission and gearing. If those ponies aren't harnessed right, then all the strong muscle in the world isn't going to get the car moving. Good tire grip is important, too.

more efficient use of horse power. technology superceded size long ago. a 427 ford cobra is not the lightest car in the world. i don't know about a civic but i know of mitsibishis and subarus that could beat it easily.
