I think the main one is are you in it to truly help people or to try to come up with something that people really dont need but might buy in order to fill your pockets with money. Next make sure that it is well tested and marketed before it comes out so that there wont be any issues of quality or anything that might hurt anyone.

ingenuity, copyright laws-does my product design copy or resemble an existing product?
clarity of description-does my product do what I claim it can do?
durability-how long will said product last with normal use?
warranty-what kind of guarantee will we offer our customers?
advertising-what methods will we use to get the word out?

a few pointers will help you...
- religious requirements
- historical background (eg. NEVER try to introduce German products to French, they'll get really mad with you!!!)
- suffrage by countries (if based on legal requirements)
- embargoes on countries (I think that Libya is ok for U.S. now...)
- nothing touching racism (eg. "European products for Europeans only..." sort of slogans)
