I've only seen diesel #2 in southern Califoria. What is the difference between #1 and #2?

#1 is sold mainly in cold areas and only in cold months,before the refineries got so good at it they had 2 grades of diesel ,but with current technoligy it is not needed as much.the only time i ever used #1 was in Grand Falls ,New Brunswick in far north east canada over in the atlantic time zone almost to new foundland

#1 is a cleaner blend with a higher centane level witch keeps fuel from gelling in extreme cold
