Seven straight months. In the high desert of Southern California. Lived in a travel trailer while waiting to buy our home with cash. It's was a real learning experience and made me value the little things we take for granted day to day.

Just like an hour, but I always want it to stay out for longer. I have these fantasies about sitting around with friends and family by candle light telling ghost stories and eating peanut butter sandwiches because there's nothing else to do with no electricity. But what would probably really happen is a lot of complaining and discomfort.

Lets see..... I would say from 8 o'clock to 7 o'clock the next morning. So I guess 11 hours. It's not that bad. I had Amish friends and they had no electricity AT ALL!! Think. No Xbox. :'-(

My electric was out for a week and a half after Katrina. But I consider myself lucky, there were people who had to wait a lot longer than me to get their lights back. So, I'm not complaining.

9 1/2 days in January in Maine during an ice storm!! That was awful.

The longest would be a week. At several times, in several different circumstances I have spent a weeks time with no electricity.

4 days, during a winter ice storm. The heavy ice on the wires pulled em' down all over my area, thats probably nothing compared to some people.

two weeks during an ice storm..but i was a chicken and didn't stay home, at the time my mom lived right next to a hospital, so i went there because the lights were on.

7 days, but I stayed at a friends house, there was no way I would be without AC for a week!
